IGHS and ESTeSC-IPC expand partnership
Starting from March until April 2025, the Higher School of Health Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (ESTeSC-IPC) will become a training entity for the Med Academy, at the Oman International Hospital (OIH), in Muscat.
IGHS, which manages this healthcare unit in the Middle East, has created this project with the prestigious Siemens Healthineers, which is already in its second edition. It involves intensive practical training for all employees of the first private hospital in the region, aiming to achieve recognition of good practices. By combining human resources with cutting-edge German-endorsed technology available at the hospital unit, we ensure excellence in healthcare provision. These core values are based on the mission of the Portuguese group, complemented by involvement with other entities, namely the local health ministry and prestigious educational institutions worldwide.
Under the agreement between the three parties, ESTeSC-IPC will be responsible for teaching five modules of advanced training in the field of Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy, totalling 456 hours. All modules will be taught online, but will culminate in a week of face-to-face training to be held at OIH. During the signing session of the agreement, the president of ESTeSC-IPC, Graciano Paulo, stated that “the Med Academy project is a tremendous challenge”, expressing confidence that it will project the School on a global scale. He expressed pride in being chosen by IGHS and Siemens Healthineers.
For the chairman of the IGHS group, José Alexandre Cunha, the Med Academy project "aligns with the mission of OIH, which is to provide the best quality services to communities.” “With the protocol, we guarantee higher levels of demand," he asserts.
Nuno Reis, from Siemens Healthineers, also sees the Med Academy as an opportunity to "fulfil the ambition of increasing quality and customer satisfaction." The training conducted in partnership with ESTeSC-IPC meets the "identified needs on the ground," he states.
For the IGHS Group, training with the best professionals is essential to ensure the quality of tasks throughout its value chain, from management to clinical practice.
